The Nativity scene is a central part of the Christmas display. It is a great way to bring the biblical story to life for young children: the Ostheimer Nativity, in fact, is designed to be played with, inviting the child to 'participate' in the event. The Christian Werner Noah's Arks, done in the traditional Reifendrehen ring-turned style, are spectacular examples of Erzgebirge woodcarving.
