Ostheimer Wooden Toys and FiguresWe are very proud to offer the exclusive Ostheimer line of wooden figures. These wonderfully expressive toys are produced from hardwoods of the finest quality, such as maple and ash. Every Ostheimer figure is sanded, painted with non-toxic stain, and varnished by hand, a process which ensures that each one is absolutely unique. These are, quite simply, the finest wooden figures available, much imitated but never equaled.
 The
present Ostheimer collection was established more than forty years ago
as an alternative to plastic toys. Guided by the educational philosophy
of the Waldorf movement, the company designs each figure to be expressive
rather than realistically detailed, stimulating the viewer's imagination
and involving the child in the creation of a fantasy world.We have the most extensive selection of Ostheimer wooden figures of all American internet retailers. We will also special order any Ostheimer figure at no extra cost: Please write or call for further information. Each year, the Ostheimer workshop retires some of its figures, so as to make way for new designs. Some of these wooden toys are discontinued altogether, others updated. We have put together a collection of these classic Ostheimer figures, which are all limited in their availability. Don't hesitate, for once the stock is depleted, they will not be available again! |
