A design that was there at the beginning! In 1913, Grete Wendt entered a competition to create "tasteful souvenirs". She met with success, for her Berry Pickers took Second Prize. After the prize-winning group of figurines had appeared in numberouse magazines, she received so many that the orders that she was eventually enticed to found the Wendt und Kuehn workshops.
