A beautiful and festive ornament that can be neatly disassembled and put away in its box once Christmas is over.
A statement from Volker and Heiko Flath concerning the history of this pyramid:
Dear Customer,
With this Christmas pyramid, you have purchased a true Erzgebirge product with a long history of tradition.
The designer of this pyramid was Herr Max Schanz (1895-1953), who for many years was a professor at the state-run toymaking school in Seiffen. He designed this pyramid in the last years of the Second World War. Manufactured by apprentices at the school, the pyramid could be packed in individual parts in a box that could be sent as a Christmas greeting from home to the soldiers of Seiffen serving at the front. Your pyramid is equal in manufacture to those sent from Seiffen at that time.
Our father and grandfather, Guenther Flath (b. 1932) was among the last of Max Schanz's pupils. Out of respect for his teacher and in honor of the formaive work he did towards preserving the folk art of Seiffen, we offer this pyramid among our selection of handcrafted articles.
As with all products using candles, we ask that you use only candles of a proper height and take care in the placement of this product.
Sold without candles.
