Senger Animals are uncompromisingly natural and environmentally friendly. They are made of naturally pigmented cotton, organically grown without any chemical interference whatsoever. This cotton comes from the Peruvian Andes (where it has been traditionally grown since the time of the Incas) by the native Indian farmers for their own use. The recultivation of this time-honored plant, initiated as part of a self-help development project, today offers an attractive alternative to the cultivation of the coca plant.
The Senger "Pure and Natural" collection is handmade in a specially conceived development project for women in the Mexican highlands. Senger Toys was awarded First Prize, "Fair to Nature" environmental award, at the Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt, 2000.
