Soy crayons are made from renewable soybeans grown in the USA and are colored with natural mineral powders. Conforms to ASTM D 4236.

A note from the manufacturer: "Our soy beans are grown and the wax processed in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A. It is edible and kosher. However, all soy wax "blooms" and takes on a dusty or moldy appearance over time. This happens to chocolate also. This is a natural effect of soy, not due to spoiling, and will not affect the performance of the crayons. They look better with use. Finger oils and use compress the surface and return the crayons to their pretty, glossy appearance. Thank you for choosing soy over petroleum wax! It's good for the kids. It's good for the planet."
