Volume Theory Educational Tiles
Up to 6 children may compare with each other three actually quite different blocks and find out that they somehow have the same size. The child learns for example that a cube with an edge length of 30mm and a square of 30 x 15 x 60mm are equal in size by using one of the six cards to place the two bodies next to each other in such a way that their total size (volume) is equal.
Volume is too abstract a term to be used on its own with younger children. It can be easily explained with the aid of building bloccks illustrating that different physical shapes can reveal identical volume.
