Ark is made of fir wood. Christian Werner's large Noah's Ark has been unavailable for several years, as the master craftsman reworked the design to meet his exacting standards. It has been well worth the wait! This large ark is beautifully painted in folk art colors, and designed so as to give the utmost satisfaction both in play and display. The ark can be opened to show its interior, where there are stalls for the animals (the interior doubles as a storage area when the ark is put away). Erzgebirge arks are among the most sought-after antique toys, and this wonderful Spielzeugarche is truly a match for its predecessors. Along with Noah and his wife, the ark includes 12 pairs of animals (sheep, pigs, elephants, rooster and hen, dogs, bears, cows, giraffes, cats, horses, camels and doves), each meticulously handcarved and -painted. Truly the highpoint of contemporary Erzgebirge folk art, and a piece that will be cherished for generations!
